Well, yes and no. You can indeed import eCal events through piCal into any iCalendar complaient application but keep in mind that eCal is very simple and limited:
- no repeating events
- no event end time or duration
- no categories
- no location or contact

For me this script was important because it allowed me to migrate to piCal

Maybe you want to add this script to the piCal distribution, it is only one php file.
