We've been experiencing the same problem with xhld and had to disable the recent headline block in order to bring our site backup.

Which version of the core do you use?
It looks the problem of block option.
Perhaps, it returns just after edit block's option.

Anyway I've just modified some codes about it.
Try it.

Sad to say it, but... Same errors returns to me in 2.96a, when I tried edit block "Headlines"

and one additional trouble - block "Latest Headlines" lost its settings and can't save edited values... SQL-debug show noting useful, I had to hide it

hmmm.
Which version of the core do you use?
It sounds like some bugs arounds the treating block's options.

Anyway, you can repair the block's option just editing the records in newblocks table by PhpMyAdmin or so on.

Still on 2.0.9.3 - can't see reasons to move on .10 (and in waiting of Oreteki... or as it will be named)

Yes, I know it... it's not a problem for me...
But I had to add - I done some more deep exploration, and I think - I found source of problem... my hands partially.

In details:
I have your blocksadmin (0.28) and if I try modify block settings from module's blockadmin page - all settings are dropped to strange values
- Number of items 0
- Lenght of title 2

If I went to editing block settings by "old way" - System - Blocks - Edit - all settings stored OK.

Just FYI

hmmm.
Have you tried the blocksadmin inside xhld's admin?

Anyway, you should check options of the newbloks table via phpMyAdmin.

This is the sample of the right value.
