I just downloaded Protector 3.14 ... and I am having a problem understanding exactly what it is I have to do. I have a cognitive dysfunction ... so the problem is mine & not your instructions. I just want to make sure I install this correctly.

I understand about the modifications I need to make in the mainfile.php.

And ... the module file under html gets copied into the modules file in XOOPS.

But ... where do I copy the files under the xoops_trust_file to? Just copy into the root directory for XOOPS and leave it named xoops_trust_file? Or am I supposed to create a new folder and copy whats in the xoops_trust_file into it??

Like I said ... I am confused.
Thanks for any & all assistance
Peter

Hi pmhoran,

To use "Protector" or the other d3 modules, you're required to set up "xoops_trust_path".

The "xoops_trust_path" is recommended to be set up outside of DocumentRoot. (ex. /home/yourhome/xoops_trust_path/)

Insert a line into just after defining XOOPS_URL in mainfile.php.
define('XOOPS_TRUST_PATH','/home/yourhome/xoops_trust_path');

Make a directory 'modules' under the directory. (XOOPS_TRUST_PATH/modules/)

You can find a similar one in the instruction of pico.
