Hi to all !

I'm new to Xoops, and while I tried to setup & run Xhld, I always get this error (pls see below) when trying to save the RSS data feed:

"Headlines Configuration (No.0)

Failed saving data to database for headline "BBC News"
XmlParse error: XML_ERR_URI_REQUIRED at line 1"

Thanks in advance,

MR

hi ribei02.

Perhaps, the URI you set is wrong.

Write here the URI.

Hi GiJoe !

this happens with all RSS feeds I try to enter.
The one I've used for example is:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/rss/newsonline_world_edition/europe/rss.xml

I've upgraded to vs.2.96 and still the error remains.
I'm using 'Auto' as Type of the feed, auto detection on 'Encoding'.
But when I do a 'Update and Refetch' the result is 'XmlParse error: XML_ERR_URI_REQUIRED at line 1'

What drives me most crazy is that we've had this working for about 2-3 hours and then it stopped...
weird stuff.

Regards,
ribei02

I've just tested the RSS, and it works fine.
It sounds a trouble of the network.

"at line 1" means "fetching trouble" in almost cases.

GiJoe,

unfortunatelly I think that's not the problem, because when I hit the RSS button to test the feed, it opens the new window without problem ! Also okay, on the 'globe' button.
So I think, I've no problems in terms of conectivity, or proxy.

Do you know RSS ?

checking RSS: (your client) - (RSS publisher)
fetching RSS: (server) - (RSS publisher)

You should check the server instead of your client.

I've just convinced it is not a matter of xhld by reading your post.

GiJoe,

I've performed these tests at the server(browser at the server), not 'remotely'.
Do you know any log I can consult, apart from putting Xoops in debug mode ?...to check if we're missing something.
