I had many times the site down because of hackers even know I have had anti_dos. So I am very happy about this module.

My question.
I get Internal Server Error when I turn globals off.
I guess it is a module I am using, is there a list of bad modules and good modules?
I have many modules installed to find out can I turn the module off and see if its working or do I have to remove the module?

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@vmclinks.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Although I don't read whole of your post, it just sounds your server doesnot allow you to override.

Claim it admin of the server or change the server.

I think it is not a good server if the settings are like this:

Both "register_globals on" and "AllowOverride none"

Even if default value is "register_globals on", there are no problem if override is allowed.

I think I am getting the same problem. I may be acting like a complete noob, cause I've never worked with .htaccess files before, but in order to solve the register globals on security alert in protector, i need to make a .htaccess file in my main site root, and put
"php_flag register_globals off " (without the quotes) in it? I did that, and I got the same server error. It might be because I never set up .htaccess users or anything though?(If you have to?) I just installed this module today, the newest version.

i got the same issue too. and i think as mine you are not allowed by our hosting to put additional .htaccess in our web directory. i have confirmed mine with my web hosting, and they confirmed that the .htaccess is not supported/allowed.

as gijoe said we need to claim it to our hosting, to turn off the register_globals.
