Hi All/GIJOE,
In the (great ) piCal readme file, it is noted that we should ensure the Time Zones of our account, default account, and server set properly.

I understand our account time zone will dictate how the time shown in our piCal, the default time zone will be used as the default time zone when we create a new event.

But what the Server Time Zone for? What does it do for our piCal or other related feature of xoops?

Appreciate your assistance on this. Thanks!

Since all servers have its own timezone, you should set the timezone of the server properly.

It is partially right that all servers should be set GMT.
But it is not perfect.

For example, there are many servers which also have a role as client.
You can easily understand that client machines should be set the timezone same as their operators.
