I am using impress cms 1.0 janus, pico 1.6 and fckeditor 1.63
I have two sites, one production, one test site. There is some content which cannot be edited on the production site. A blank screen is all I get when I attempt to edit as webmaster. On the test site there is no problem. Not all content on the production site behaves like this. Most of the content was pasted from the original website. However, with the problematical content I have tried pasting from word, openoffice.org and from text documents. It doesn't matter how I get the content in there, I cannot edit once it is there. I have compared settings from both sites but cannot find anything which may cause the problem. Are there some critical settings/preferences which I am overlooking?

Anyway, "blank screen" tells us nothing.
Your first task might be displaying the error.

okay, let me clarify blank screen. When I click on Edit the Content, instead of getting the fckeditor window, my webpage simply goes blank. I have no menus, no content, no anything, just blank. To get back to the previous screen I must click the back arrow on the browser.

As a test I created a new subcategory in each of the sites under the same parent category. I am using the same versions of everything, pico, fckeditor, mysql, php, etc as both sites are hosted on the same physical server. I pasted the content into each as new content and was able to re-edit the content in the test site but not the production site.

I repeated the above process but this time manually entered one line of text in each. This was re-editable in both sites. But in the production site, all of the fckeditor icons disappeared and I could only edit the body in html. I tried editing other content and the fckeditor was behaving. I logged out again and selected the one-line content that I had previously created and fckeditor was back in business. So I tried copying and pasting 6 times and when i tried to register this form I got the following error.

error(s) found:
No valid ticket-stub pair found

Confirm it.
And do you want to post again?

I reposted and my 6 lines are there.

I tried to copy and paste again but form would not register and fckeditor lost its icons again

What does the no valid ticket-stub pair error indicate?

This ticket-error shows us nothing.
You should find PHP errors at blank screen.

And pico just supports common/fckeditor (fckxoops).
fckxoops is never versioned like "1.63"

I've just versioned "2.3.2-00x" or "2.5.1-00x"

okay, I am using linux and created the directory common and made a soft link called fckeditor inside this directory to the FCKeditor. I don't think it is a problem with the editor because the test site handles the content okay. But if I wished to try another editor are you saying that pico only supports fckeditor? If I can use other editors can you explain how or has this been discussed elsewhere in forums?

With pico, I've never discussed editors other than fckxoops.
And I'm not interested in any WYSIWYG Editors under the class folder like XOOPS >= 2.0.14 or ImpressCMS.
Because class folder should be denied from direct accesses.

Anyway, you should get some error messages from the server, first.

Just a side note : in ImpressCMS 1.1 Final (released yesterday) editors are no more in class folder but in a different area (XOOPS_ROOT_PATH/editors)

It sounds great!
ICMS looks one of the best fork of XOOPS about the security also.
