I think this would be a nice feature, I found this tutorial on flashkit that reads variables from a php page into flash for a countdown.

I am running pical 0.8 and really just need a simple php page to print 2 variables, the hours and minutes remaining until the next event. I can then code the actionscript to pick up these and use for the countdown.
Anyone know an easy way to do this, sorry I am hopeless at php
