I may solve this before anyone answers, but thought I'd try anyway in case I don't.

I'm just starting with Xoops, and have extensively used Joomla for several months.

I haven't been able to figure out how to get an AMS article to show on the home page yet.

It's probably right in front of me and I'm not seeing it, in fact I'm sure I've seen it at least once already.

Actually, on the article edit page, there is the option, "Publish in home" and "Yes" is selected, yet the article does not show up on the home page.

Is there a version conflict perhaps?

You have to select the AMS module as the default startup module in admin - preferences
Then you can select "publish in home" in the settings of the article...
