I've been using Netquery for some time now and its spambot protection is excellent. However, it's the only part of Netquery that I use (despite the excellent facilities in the rest of the module,) and the only reason for (me) having it on my sites. Netquery is a big module.
I've thought for a long time that this spambot protection would be better placed into Protector. Have you considered this?

I don't know the module named Netquery at all.
Anyway, Protector has some features preventing from spam bots.
(Counting URIs and referring RBL severs)
Try it.
I use Protector on all my sites, it's part of my standard install
Anyway, you can check out Netquery at

I looks good tools, and also looks too heavy
(It must do DNS query again and again)

I haven't noticed any significant degradation in site performance on the sites where I use it. Is it something you could extract from NetQuery and put into Protector?
OK.
I'll try NetQuery by myself.
Certainly, I don't know it almost at all.
