Hi Gijoe, this sugestion in forum xoops.org interessant idea for implements in forum.

Interesting self-moderation idea by Speed

I ran across the following site via a google search and read through the thread. What struck me as most interesting were the last few posts from the mods.

http://www.experts-exchange.com/Gamers/Misc/Q_21658805.html

The forum topics are closed by the original poster when a suitable answer has been given. Moderation points are awarded by the original poster to those persons that gave the best feedback. In the case of this thread, no answers were given for a month so a moderator declared it done and was going to close and award.

This has a LOT of appeal to me. Especially on a site like here. Topics could be raised and closed. Open topics would be easy to discern. It would be readily apparent whether a solution was proposed. A protocol and baseline for answering could be established.

Just some thinking out loud for a Xoops implementation:

1) Allow original posters to close their own support topics? Would need configuration in the admin to flag which forums allow this.

2) Allow auto-closing after 'x' days? Maybe with an auto-flag or pre-fix of 'abandoned' that the original poster or a mod could change if the issue was actually answered but not closed properly.

3) Allow original posters to flag which posts were most useful to them by post number. Highlight those posts with a different color or bold print so they stand out. Or list them at the bottom of the original post. Perhaps have a checkmark for each post that the original poster (and mods) could click to select which posts were most useful.

4) Moderation points would be a nice add-in so that the people that answer questions frequently AND USEFULLY can be recognized.

Anyways, it's an interesting system that I think would be a nice addition to the Xoops family. It's something to think about. :)

5) Allow original posters (and mods) to flag which posts are off topic. Highlight those posts with a different color or grey them out so they are obvious. Again, a quick checkmark for each post that the original poster (and mods) could click would make it a useable feature that is fairly self-evident.

So you could "report post" to send a message to the mods (already in place), "flag off-topic" and "flag very useful" which would highlight appropriately.

Thanks for your analysing if possible.

I am start convert CBB forum a d3 forum in soon too , but is dificult, one help is possible ?

hi gibaphp.
plzXoo looks like a forum you want.

I don't like a forum which the first poster has special privileges.
Because it cause too many threads(topics) which has no replies.

XUGJ applied plzXoo as Q&A forum, this system gives many stresses from selfish questioners to answerers.
Now, XUGJ uses d3forum, and all answerers are free from stress.

Anyway, I thank you for the requests.
Though I've never used CBB, I'll make it if many CBB users want d3forum.
It is not so difficult to implement the converter ... perhaps
