I'm testing pical, but when I click the link to download an event to ical, I get an error message form ical that the Data downloaded is not valid... If I enter the address mydomainhere.com/modules/piCal/index.php?fmt=single&event_id=0000000001&output_ics=1
and download it manually, I can then open it in ical no problem.
What am I doing wrong? Why won't it download it directly?
Thanks

Since I don't have mac can work ical, I cannot help you by myself.
But there are many users piCal with iCal.
Check the URI first.
Does the URI start with webcal:// ?

Thanks for the help

Could it be a server problem? Such as mime types? Although it does open ical, but ical can't open the file...

I can't download it on my mac. Can you on a PC?
It gives me an error that the data is not valid. If I download to hardrive and then open in ical, then it works fine...
I tried downloading other calendars, and it works (including yours). What could be wrong? Is there something that needs to be set up in the server?

Perhaps your server rejects HTTP requests from ical.
Of course, I can't know iCal's request.
All I can say, change the server.

I wish I could just move to another server, but it's for work, so it has to go in their server...
I found out, though, that if you use the windows version instead of the mac version, it downloads the event(s) no problem. You can't subsribe to them, and refresh or update them, but at least you can download them directly into iCal.

I cannot understand.
Certainly there are some windows application compatible iCal.
But the problem is caused by "Your server rejects iCal's HTTP Request".
Perhaps, your server rejects static link of
webcal://... You can understand this is not an issue of piCal.
I'll close it.

I thought the problem was with my server, but when I tried to open the following event in iCal for the mac:
webcal://xoops.peak.ne.jp/modules/piCal/?output_ics=1I got the same error about the calendar data not being valid... I think it has to do with the way the address is being passed (as php, instead of an ics file).
Just to let you know.

This is not a bug.
piCal just says "No valid event id".
This is one of the valid URI.
webcal://xoops.peak.ne.jp/modules/piCal/?event_id=6&output_ics=1

I got that address (webcal://xoops.peak.ne.jp/modules/piCal/?output_ics=1) by going to the list view of the calendar (http://xoops.peak.ne.jp/md/piCal/?cid=0&smode=List&caldate=2006-12-3) and selecting events from the list, clicking export, and then the mac download button...
Does that mean that you are supposed to only be able to subscribe to one event at a time (from the event description page only)?

I cannot understand what you mean.
This is POST form.
Or iCal does not support POST form?
Again, as I don't have iCal, I cannot test it at all.
At least, firefox can download icalendars from Win icons.
