Hello .
I have a problem with the latest version of pical
i live in france . (pical 0.84 xoops 2.0.13.2)
when i create an event on sunday 26 march 2006 and check the allday event , then validate the event .
this event will be diplayed on 26 and 27 march ..
(when i validate it with a begin and end time it work's)
could be a winter summer time problem as the last sunday in march is the first day in summer time . i trie to add an event last sunday in march 2007 and it does the same ...
on a other webpage i have pical 0.6 installed and it does the same ...
how can i change this ..
I noticed that when i set a beginning and end time (only for this day . ex: 9:00 to 17:00 , when i validate de the event ,pical change the time to 10:00 to 18:00
whith an other day it change nothing ...
of your webpage it works ,so what the difference betwen you and me .
i also try a new xoops install and only pical . same problem.

thanks Michael

With generally words, it is not possible to support winter/summer time fully because XOOPS itself does not support winter/summer time at all.

Which timezone should be set by people livin'in areas with winter/summer time ?

In piCal,

- In summer time, set your timezone as summertime.
- In winter time, set your timezone as wintertime.

This is the limitation from XOOPS core.

trouble is when you down load the calendar ICS file into Outlook it add an hour to all the times, so all the times are wrong. this is to do with British winter time and summer time. so make this module next to useless.

I am using 2.4 Xoops thought the time issiue had been fixed for 2.4 Xoops

Perhaps, you did some mistakes about setting timezones.

Does 2.4 have concepts of "locale" ?
That's new to me.

something I am using has a concept of "locale" as you put it , whether it is Xoops, Icalendar or Outlook.

if this was not the case then the time would not change by an hour, which is the difference between UK GMT & BST (British Summer Time).

AS for settings, in Xoops the server time is set to -GMT-5:00 and the default time is GMT-00:00
this is because the server is in the states and we are in the UK, there was an issues with Xoops 2.3 with the British time zone but this was corrected in 2.4
and now the time display correctly.

In calendar "General Settings" there is an option to set the "summer/Winter"
1: Value of Xoops config
2: Value of winter time as told by server (Recommended)
3: Value of summer time as told by server

this was set to No 2 "Value of winter time as told by the server" I now plan to set this as "Value of Xoops config" and see what happens.

I will post results later.

I can't test this now until next week.

I see you can not output to any of the browsers with calendars, e.g. Firefox or Netscape

and it will not work with Mozilla Sunbird, I have tried all today with no joy - Shame
