The Protector 2.53 .zip has some files that are not in the .tar.gz. It looks like the .tar.gz is the correct one.

The zip file is the correct one because:
1. text files are not missing in root
2. some files in the language folders of the .tar.gz are missing.
Conclusion: .tar.gz is not complete.

The text files in the root have been moved to the docs subdirectory. I think GIJOE said he was doing that in another post.
I think the missing language files were intentionally removed, e.g. blocks.php is no longer used because the module no longer has a block, and there were two Polish language subdirectories.

Thank you for pointing.
It's my mistake in packaging script for zip.
(overwrite instead of replace)
documents are moved into docs/ for hiding the version of protector.
Of course, I believe...
SECURE LEVEL:
bare XOOPS <<<< XOOPS with older Protector < XOOPS with the latest Protector.
And polski is just an older language folder for polish. >McDonald.

If you check for example the finnish/polski language folder then you'll see that the one in the zip-pack has a block.php file which is not included in the .tar.gz-pack and polish folder.
Nothing critical as far as I can see.

I've just downloaded the zip file, and I've confirmed it is a right package.
About block.php, read Dave_L's post.
