Hi GIJOE!

Would it be possible to make a search page that lists all events from a category on one page, with the option to choose the period?

For example: people would be able to list all sports events for this month on one page. It would then be possible for them to push buttons to search on this day, this week and this year (like you have in the calendar itself).

BTW, I just love this module! It's really great

I have some of this functionality in a new custom block I wrote for piCal.

I copied the get_blockarray_coming_event function in piCal_xoops.php and created a new function get_blockarray_coming_event2. I added to this a new parameter "cat_filter". If you pass it a category id it will only return events with that category. The only other change to the function is to change the SQL query to add another WHERE clause.

I probably didn't need to copy the function but could have extended it in place by just adding a parameter, but I wanted to be safe.

Hello dreamgear,
very good idea
that's exactly what i want to do, but i'm not a baby rasmus and i'had difficult to modify the code as well...
Could you help me with the code example ? with the file i have to modify, and the sql query (where) you use as mentionned.
In fact, i'd like to make a block with those settings

Category 1 :
________
|_______| (Here i can select a sub category)

Cat袢orie 2 :
________
|_______| (Here i can select a sub category in relation with the first)

Time :
________
|_______| (here i can select day, month, year in relation with the firsts)

I fear it'not so easy !!!
... But if you think pical could do this, i will be very very interesting !

------------------
Or perhaps anyone knows about another module which would ddo that ?
-------------------
Thanks,
Long life to pical

Oups ! Perhaps i didn't understand what this topic said. My english ?
I wasn't very goog to explain what i wanted..
In fact i would like to have something like that :
http://www.peak.ne.jp/xoops/uploads/photos/thumbs/8.gif
User could select a category (sport, musik etc.), a place (it woud be different location) and the time by "this day", "this week", "this month", and "all days".
The results will be display in a list as it exists today.

Pical's files are difficult to understand and change, your help will be welcome,

hi macno.

It is not so difficult to implement like what you want.
But I don't have free time to implement it.

Add select box into funciton get_categories_selform() in piCal.php.

Add where clause by using $_GET into function get_where_about_categories() in piCal.php.

I'm really busy for my work.
I can't help you any more.

Hack by youself, please.
