There are two parts to this module that I don't understand under the preferences section:-

use mod_rewrite with whole of this module

Don't forget turning mod_rewrite on. eg) rename .htaccess.rewrite to .htaccess	Yes No
Name of the directory with modules/less mode

experimental implementation. you should add some specific sentences into XOOPS_ROOT_PATH/.htaccess
leave blank normally

What do they mean and how do you use them?

Any help would be apreciated thanks

The former is not so difficult.
rename .htaccess.rewrite to .htaccess
And set it to the preferences of the TinyD.
If you can use mod_rewrite, it works fine.

The latter - modules-less mode is just an experimental stage.
I don't recommend it.

what does the rewrite do?

does it rewrite the index.php?id=1 to html?

does it rename the index to article title? making it topic-name.html?

and more importantly does it do a permanent redirect from the old index.php?id=1 url so that search engines that have it listed will recrawl and index the new page?

What else does it do? As I'm not up on my rewrites but I'm a quick learner :)

Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks

All you have to do is

- rename .htaccess.rewrite to .htaccess
- turn "use mod_rewrite with whole of this module" on

This is a sample URL with rewrite mode.

Hi GIJOE,

Thanks for the reply, I tried this feature and it worked ok on the whole, the old php pages are still accessible too, i would probable need to add something to the .htaccess file to redirect those pages, as I don't want to be penalised for duplicate content.

Seeing as it dosnt dynamicaly rewrite the html to the page content title is there a way to change the tc_ to something else related to my content, ie pat-testing_1.html

I tried changing the reference to tc_ in the htaccess file but get an error, so it must also be in another file.

Also had one or two images not showing up on my html pages but they display fine on the php pages.

Do I have to change that and the htaccess file where tc_ is mentioned?

Also I've found out the problem with my images not loading with rewrite on, it's only the background images for some reason, other images load fine. Any idea's

Before I forget the module less part...... whats it for? is it to remove the tinycontent dir and modules dir in the url???
if it was that would be GREAT :) and if so how do you use it lol

Thanks for bearing with me on the replys too GIJOE
