Hi GiJoe,

I was wondering if you may have a search engine user agent list we can add to our protector exempt user agent list. also theres a small bug in the protector for xoops cube, seems the "permission" tab in the protector admin throws a blank white page, although I never worry about it, everything seems to work fine.

which core do you actively work on? I switched to cube because i thought you do not work on 2.18 anymore.

Thanks again for all the great modules.

sincerely, auxiv

The format should be a perl regex format.

eg)
If you add "baidu" into it,
/(msnbot|Googlebot|Yahoo! Slurp|baidu)/i

With my XCL2.1, there are no troubles like you.
Please tell me the message after turning "PHP debug" on by "Legacy System"->"Global preferences"

My primary envirnment for develpping my modules is XOOPS 2.0.16a-JP from the XOOPS Cube Project.
This obeys the most basic X2 architecture.
While XOOPS>=2.0.14 from xoops.org abandoned the basic compatibitities with X2 architecture.

Now, I also check the compatibilities with the cores:

2nd priority: XOOPS Cube Legacy 2.1.x
3rd priority: ImpressCMS 1.1.x

I don't have a list you can copy/paste into Protector, but here are some sites giving information related to user-agent/bots/spiders:
- http://www.useragentstring.com
I've never adjusted the default setting for these user-agents in Protector. Sometimes Majestic12bot gets blocked by Protector buts that's because Majestic12bot is an agressive bot. A good counter like PHP-Stats will detect the user-agents for you.

ahh, how silly of me.... the protector white page is simply a result of me not having installed altsys (undefined variable).

I am running XCL 2.1.6 RC 2

thank you for your response(s) GIJoe !!!

ouch...
It must be a bug

Though almost D3 modules require altsys, only protector does not.

I really hate bugs... fortunately installing altsys fixed it. The "permissions" tab in "protect center" error when i turned on debug was undefined variable /modules/altsys... something. i activated the module and now i dont have the white page error anymore, it loads.

thanks for your responses!

regards, auxiv
