I suggested this feature a while back at cbb and got some enthousiastic response from phppp. Since 4.0 takes a long time to come around I wonder if this feature might already be in D3forum (actually I'm planning to switch to D3 soon so that makes it even more interesting). Here's my post from xoopsforge:
A moderator at my site asked the following question:
Is it possible to get the subject from the forum when recieving a notification mail?
Right now when i look at my inbox all the subjects are:
[Ninan] Forum auto-notify : New post
It could be very sweet to get the real subject from the forum. This way it would be a lot easier for me to sort the messages in the queue.
For example I know that someone is taking care of the thread "Please help". Then I just want to delete all messages for that thread in my inbox.
Right now I have to go into every message to see what have been posted and which subject they have :(
Hope that it is possible..
I think this is a usefull addition to CBB. Any plans for this in 4.0?
Regards
If it isn't in D3 I'd like to suggest it ;)
This is a good idea.
If I understand correctly, if this is done will be:
[Ninan] Forum auto-notify: New post: New Title
The same could be done for other cases of notification. The problem in this case is when people apply filters to move into folders in your inbox. Even this way would work. The filter can be applied to a part of the notification and will be cut off the rest.
hi powadha.
Do you mean just adding the topic/post title into the subject?
It is quite easy.
Just edit language constant (or use altsys's language admin)
You can use them
{POST_TITLE}
{TOPIC_TITLE}
{FORUM_TITLE}
etc.
I've just added them into the default value of the constants. (Japanese and English)h
