Hi everyone,

Just to let you know that at ImpressCMS, we intend to do everything we can to support GIJOE's excellent modules. So far, we have changed a few things in our code (based on XOOPS 2.0.17) to better support GIJOE's modules.

If users of GIJOE modules are testing ImpressCMS and find any problem, please report it on http://community.impresscms.org and we will do our best to find a quick solution.

Finally, GIJOE, if you have some recommendation of fixes you know that would help us support your module, please let us know!

Cordially,

Sounds great!

Though I have to stop supporting the core from xoops.org because of their ignorance against my minimum advise, I can support my modules with ImpressCMS.

I'll install ImpressCMS into my local environment for developping/checking the compatibilities.

See you!

I had been waiting for this reply. Thank you very much.

Now I am going to shift from xoops.org to "impress cms".

¢¨ I had once thought about shifting from xoops.org (2.0.16) to XCL but that work seems to be too hard since there is not any instruction of migrating from xoops.org (2.0.16 or above) to XCL. I think XCL is a great but it lacks of documentation to help people get started with it. And that may be the main reason of why XLC failed increasing (xoops) users.

On the other hand ICMS.org seems to be very professional of promoting its product. Xoops users can shift to icms easily - that's the greatest advantage of ICMS over XCL I think.

That was the most funny joke i've read this week

Maybe everyone should move from Xoops too impressCms??
New lock on the front door, but windows opened and
backdoor easy penetrable !!!

Maybe the new theme? Hummm... there are thousands
on open source and a huge pack released by Mikhail
for Xoops and XOOPS Cube.

Maybe the new admin? Well... it's not so new and there's
a module Xoops Hack that do the same and even better.
And it lacks usability and can't be personalized as XC

Maybe the devs? Definitely, No! I don't think so, see points above.

The Doc ? Who read the doc? There's a wiki page on XC.org
that explains how to migrate.

You just prove that you don't read the documentation.

And that you would buy an old car with a fresh painting
for the price of a new one. That tells a lot about you !

Have Fun !

I like old cars for what they are, old mechanics.
Not because they pretend to compete with new sport cars!

I did find documentation of migrating from xoops >= 2.0.14 (mine 2.0.17) to XCL but only found this: http://xoopscube.org/modules/xhnewbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=119&viewmode=flat

I just found it is a desperate trouble to move from 2.0.17 to XCL. So i take ICMS.

I don't intend to be rude with you
it's my frankly way...

What's the point to move from a core
to another patchwork when you can
run such 'features' with modules
that ensure you backward compatibility?

You know that they are dependent on Xoops core
and D3 modules compatible with XOOPS Cube !?

Aware of what those guys, the same from
Xoops Foundation have done to Xoops.org...

Well, is there any place in your life way
for ethics and moral?

P.S.
Here is the link from wiki front page

hi gigamaster.

First, you'd better know you are respected with many XOOPS users in Japan.
Of course, I respect you.
And you also better know such a rediculous post makes nobodies happy

You can believe my first option is XoopsCube.
Because I respect minahito at the most.
I love his personality, technical skills and heart.

I can say minahito is far the best developper I've seen in all of XOOPS world.
And XoopsCube Legacy must be the best core in all forks of XOOPS.

But, I supported X2 all of X2 forks, and I will support X2 forks.
It is my hobby and policy.

The reason why I have to stop supporting X2 core from xoops.org is they ignore the basic compatibility in spite of my suggestion.

Then I have to say the core from xoops.org is no more X2.
And I'm tired to write same answers..."Fix resource.db.php" again and again...

For me, supporting ImpressCMS is not so special, because ImpressCMS is a X2 fork clearly.

Please, don't look ImpressCMS down >gigamaster
Though XCL is the best core for me, I respect developpers of ImpressCMS.

Anyway, this topic tells the XoopsCube or ImpressCMS team that the most important documentation is how to migrate from base-project to forked-project
Of couse, I know it is easy to migrate.
But almost users are quite gutless to change the runnning site.

Almost users upgraded 2.0.13.2 to 2.0.14 from xoops.org thoughlessly.
however the upgrading is quite troublesome.

Almost users didnot upgrade 2.0.13.2 to 2.0.16a-JP
however there are free from trouble.

This is also a side of opensource, regrettably...

All of imbalances are caused from the bug in resource.db.php or more imbalances are existing ?

Hi Gijoe,

I don't intend to be rude with you or any user
and i'm aware that my way of frankness ... sometimes seems harsh.
But if we respect each other, we don't have to agree on everything.

From the discussion on Minahito's blog, we can follow up the URLs
to understand their collective unconscious psychic content.
In fact watching back into their management of xoops.org and
Xoops Foundation for the last 3 years, it's quite obviously...

Sure this is all about 'Freedom' ! But is that we have experimented?

What happens when somebody is deprived of something ?

Nobody can force somebody to learn and adopt good habits and good principles,
choosing a core or another. It's up to everybody motivations.

And at this point, if some decisions may express some unconsciousness,
it is also about set people free to self-learning and self-development...

So, just show the top of the peak and everybody will be aware that
if we want a global view and our own opinion on what is
going on, it is up to ourselves to made an effort to reach it.

Everybody is free to do so, or not, and made our own choices
according to our definition of freedom, moral and ethics.

Finally, we don't have to be part of a same group
if being part of the group that is grouping all groups ^^

Jung described the collective unconscious, the part of the unconscious which is common to all members of a group, as consisting of mythological motives or primordial images to which he gave the name 'archetypes'.

Archetypes are also highly connected to each other.
And they are very similar to groups: if you pull at a human
social group long enough, you get the whole of humanity. And
that's because groups have a highly archetypal construction.

This is reflected in the essential bi-polarity of most archetypes and groups.
Archetypes are almost always described in pairs, and it is of the essence of most
groups that they define themselves not only in terms of what they are but also in
terms of what they are not (eg women are not men, egoisme is not altruism,
plagiarists are not authentic, and yin is not yang).

Maybe they can be both at the same time !??

@ gigamaster:

Please stop your flames and war commentary towards xoops and now impresscms.
As soon as you read the words: xoops and/or impresscms, it seems these names are like a red flag to a bull for you.
Yes opinions may differ, but sorry to say, your comments aren't respectfull at all.
You have made your choice: XoopsCube. Fine, I respect that and stick with it.
But respect others who chose different.
Give all the forks the chance they deserve. Minahito does, GIJOE does. History is past tense. We all are looking to the future and put our positive energy into that.
Like Minahito and GIJOE...These are the real examples of open source spirits towards xoops forks.

I thank GIJOE for his kind reply words!

Grtz., Shine

@ Shine

You should read me twice because it is all about freedom
something you have experimented with XOOPS Cube without
understanding what really means free ^^

But the purpose of your reply to me is not about freedom
nor respect - words that you use here for your selfish interests.

I define myself by the principles i stand for and that you clearly
don't share, alike truth, freedom or respect for Open Source Spirit!

Finally, i didn't ask you nothing
and if you want to show some respect stay in your way
as i don't like the way you do.

Have Fun !

I don't know because I've already removed core from xoops.org.

I was disappointed by their attitude against my suggestion.

If they fix resource.db.php, I'll reinstall their latest versions.

hi marcan.

I've just installed ImpressCMS.

First, the installer looks wonderful!
Of course, it has good design.
(I knew there are skilled designers in ImpressCMS project)
But it is the most worthy that defining XOOPS_TRUST_PATH in installer.

And it also has good admin area.
I've just implemented a converter from CBB to d3forum on ImpressCMS admin area, it's quite free from stresses.

I'll support ImpressCMS from now.
(Though my first option is XOOPS Cube...)
