Thank you for this module. I used previous versions and appreciate all your hard work.

I have a few questions...

I upgraded from a previous version. Are the old precheck/postcheck lines in mainfile.php from the previous version still required or can I delete? Currently, they are commented out.

After module upgrade/update, I went into Protector Center and I see _AM_TH_GROUP1IPS instead of what should be there (Allowed IPs for Group=1...). I checked the language file under the trust path and it is there. So far, no other language issues. Does this mean that Protector is using the old language file under XOOPS root path instead? Or where should it be using the language files and how do I know it is using the correct files in other areas? The old files from previous version are still under root/modules/protector as there were no instructions about deleting unnecessary folders.

Your help would be most appreciated.

Please READ the instructions carefully. Your should not had any problems if you had followed the instruction.

Quote:

= UPGRADE from Protector 2.x =

- remove two lines for Protector from your mainfile.php
- remove all files under XOOPS_ROOT_PATH/modules/protector/ via FTP etc.
- upload files in the archive (refer INSTALL)
- do "upgrade" Protector in modulesadmin
- add two lines for Protector into your mainfile.php

Note: "XOOPS_TRUST_PATH" for 3.0 instead of "XOOPS_ROOT_PATH" for 2.x

The old files should be removed. Precheck and postcheck are still needed but they are called now from the TRUST_PATH.

A thousand pardons! I did open the readme file but missed it as I didn't read far enough. Please tell me, what program is the readme file formatted for? I opened with notepad but it was not formatted. I think if I opened it with the program it was formatted for, it would be better for reading (for my tired eyes).

Thanks again.

No, it is not in the readme. The instruction is listed under the download.

Yes, it's there. I copied this directly from file called README (no extension) under xoops_trust_path\modules\protector\:
remove two lines for Protector from your mainfile.php
- remove all files under XOOPS_ROOT_PATH/modules/protector/ via FTP etc.
- upload files in the archive (refer INSTALL)
- do "upgrade" Protector in modulesadmin
- add two lines for Protector into your mainfile.php

Note: "XOOPS_TRUST_PATH" for 3.0 instead of "XOOPS_ROOT_PATH" for 2.x

Date inside file: 3.01 (2007/02/10)

My apologies if I have bothered you. I just didn't know what program I should use to open it. But nevermind. Now I know I should only read instructions on download page and won't bother you again about it.

I answer you against just this question.

Old language files make this trouble.
D3 modules (and Protector) has "language overriding system".
