Do you mean this?
host root == DirctoryRoot
If you can set .htaccess,
root - xoops
- xoops_trust_path - .htaccess
And add .htaccess
host root == DirctoryRoot
AND
you cannot use .htaccess
... cancel the server.
I dare to affirm "it is the best way".
I cannot teach how to treat file system basically.
Query it the other forum for novices in somewhere.
Maybe Zombie means that his web hosting service does not allow locating files outside the web root.
If that's the case, can XOOPS_TRUST_PATH be set the same as XOOPS_ROOT_PATH? Or can XOOPS_TRUST_PATH be a subdirectory of XOOPS_ROOT_PATH?
I know that's not best for security, but it may be the only option in this case.
hi Dave.
I know there are such hosting services
I meant you have to set .htaccess for denying direct access with such hosts.
- Make a subcategory with anonymous name (eg. /foobar/) under XOOPS_ROOT_PATH
- Define XOOPS_TRUST_PATH just under XOOPS_ROOT_PATH in mainfile.php
define('XOOPS_TRUST_PATH',XOOPS_ROOT_PATH.'/foobar');
- Make a file XOOPS_ROOT_PATH/foobar/.htaccess
