Hi

I've made some draft documentation for the Protector 2.57 module. However, there are a few things I am not sure of.

I would appreciate it if people who know a lot about this module could download the Protector documentation and help me fill in the highlighted yellow bits :)

You can email me at Crushdepth.net or post them here I guess :)

1)∑session.use_trans_sid∩: on
[WHAT IS THIS AND HOW TO FIX IT?]

You may fix it in .htaccess
php_flag session.use_trans_sid off

2) [RELIABLE IPs DON∏T GET BANNED?]
No. reliable IP won't be banned.

3)Protected IP bits for the session
[NOT SURE HOW THIS WORKS - CLOSES YOUR SESSION IF YOUR IP CHANGES?]

Some client moves his/her IP in some ranges.
eg)
192.168.1.3 - 1st access
192.168.1.203 - 2nd access
192.168.1.112 - 3rd access

All accesses should store the session.
In this case, 24bit is useful.

- 24bit protection
- A cracker knows the session_id
- access from 192.168.2.3 with the session_id

This session hi-jack never occurred.

I think 16bit is balanced value between IP round-range and cracker attacking possibility.

4) Force intval to variables like id
[ANYONE KNOW WHAT MODULES? I'VE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THIS]

Older weblog have the problem.
But the author tohokuaiki had already fixed it.

I have finished a draft doc for Protector V3. I would appreciate it if people could take a look to see if there are any mistakes (because there may be). Any problem please let me know:

PDF version
Open document version
Word version

I hope it is useful to people.

Thanks to GIJOE for such a useful module.

hi crushdepth.

Thank you for the useful documentation.
I'll check it later.

I wrote a document for Protector V3 in Japanese.
http://www.xugj.org/modules/manual2/content/index.php?id=14

You can read it by some translation sites/applications.

I've just read the document closely.

Your work is excellent!!
Perhaps, you've checked Protector's action again and again.

Can I add the URI of your document into my protector's README?

--------------------------------------------------
A typo I've found.

Section) Upgrading from Protector V2.x
5.Define the XOOPS_ROOT_PATH as per installation procedure step 6 above.

- should be "XOOPS_TRUST_PATH"

A question mark

Section) Preferences
"Loggin level"
quiet [duplication - error?].

- no "Quiet" is quieter than "quiet" (It is common way for unix commands)
