Hope permission check could be added to plugins.

It must be a much better plugin.
I've replaced it.
Perhaps there are no plugins for modules with category-permissioning without newbb1.

the changes phppp provide above is to cover this permission issue, doesn't it?

Certainly, almost plugins does not consider CATEGORIES-GROUPS permissioning.
At least, I've fixed piCal's plugin.
I also think the plugins for such modules eg. WF/XF-Section, news>=1.2 ... should be remade.
