I'm sorry that I can't answer you about xwords at all.
But, if you want the feature of autolink etc, try pukiwikiMod !

PukiwikiMod is a great module made by nao-pon.

http://hypweb.net/xoops/modules/mydownloads/
http://cvs.sourceforge.jp/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/pukiwikimod/pukiwiki.tar.gz?only_with_tag=MAIN&...

1&2: it has english language files.
3: http://hypweb.net/xoops/modules/contact/
4: it has.

Xwords is a fork from hsalazar's Wordbook. Since Wordbook detects the entry initial letter when adding it to DB, only normal letters from A-Z were supported. When trying to add words started with accented letters and foreigner characters (like Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Thai, etc.) it used to give an error message. So, that's why aiba started Xwords.

I've tried this module long time ago, so I don't really know how it works now. (Its code is often being recycled) Before, it was using mbstring to detect the initial letter, which requires this special PHP extension for multi-byte characters to be installed on your server. If you're gonna use it only for normal characters, then go ahead and use it as-is. Otherwise, some hacks might be needed.

The good point in this module is its flexibility. You can control entries sorting through language files. For example, you can sort words into group-like divisions. Say vowels, so you define words started by A E I O U to be sorted into vowels group.

You can contact aiba posting at his BBS.

I'm sorry I can't really help you right now.
But you should try this translator:
http://excite.co.jp/world/english/

In the middle there's the option 英→日 and 日→英.
Select the second one (日→英) and copy only language constants text one by one and then copy 'n paste the results manually into the file. Don't copy the whole file at once 'cause it might corrupt and mess up the file.

So to save you some work, you can download the lastest Wordbook off Dev's website and complete the missing constants.

You can find a good answer from Tadano Shijuro in the thread.

I also recommend you to use PukiWikiMod.

thanks GIJOE great man but now i think xwords is better than a wiki module for my purpose.
there are many good and professional wiki module in xoops.
the last one is mediawiki made by phppp.
