Hi new to xoops and myalbum. Trying to set up for the first time and whenever I go to add a new category I receive the error "db error: insert category" I'm making sure to fill in all the fields (although I do not understand what the banner url is for) but no luck.
I'm sure I've skipped or missed something but I can't find any FAQs or a help doc. Can someone ppoint me in the right direction. and if there is a user doc somewhere please let me know so I can give it a read through!

Try the latest version.
Or, check the table (myalbum_cat) is broken or not.

Okee dokee. I finally got back around to messing with this... I upgraded to 2.9 and in the administration everything seems alright but now I can't upload pictures.
My photos and thumbs folders are both chmod 777 and under:
/uploads/photos
/uploads/thumbs
I ran the album checker and received this message as the only problem:
PHP directive 'upload_tmp_dir': Error: upload_tmp_dir (/upload_tmp) is not writable nor readable .
Can you tell me what I have goofed now?
Thanks for all your help!

okay well I assumed that but where should this upload_tmp directory be? I don't see one in my upload folder or in the module itself. If I need to create it that's no problem but I need to know where the module is looking for this dependancy.
Thanks

Is it your owned server?
Or shared hosting?
If former, edit php.ini directly and restart httpd.
check the line of...
If latter, you'd better ask it to the administrator

Okay! looks like I was able to fix my issue. I had to create an .htaccess file that used the directive:
<IfModule mod_php4.c>
php_value session.save_path /upload_tmp
</IfModule>
Then I created the directory upload_tmp where I specified. Worked like a champ!
