Perhaps, you've turned "HTML special character escape" on.

If you make HTML entries solely, remove htmlspecialchars from "Default filter set" of prefereces.


And pico don't support wysiwyg editors under class/ of cores.
(HTTP access for class/ should be denied by .htaccess etc.)
