"multiple dot" means the uploaded file with its name like

foo.php.bar

This file might be handled as .php if no handler is defined for .bar

If your uploader allows store files into DocumentRoot and store its name same as the original name, this must be seculity hole.

Then, protector denies such files. (if the setting is turned on)
