simplifiedurls destroys wordpress permalink ability?
I am stuck with the default permalink structure for wordpress (Xpress) :(

I cannot force backward compatibility using simplified urls.

****edit****

I fixed it all ;)

htaccess did the trick!

happy holidays!

ok, got the wordpress permalinks working!
couldnt hide the absolute dir path though, for now i will use the absolute path with wordpress permalinks.

I have spent hours and days trying to get a 301 redirect from request:
http://www.example.com/modules/d3forum/index.?post_id=#

to: my new static urls.

The static urls are in place and working correctly. theyre not converted and/or redirected when called upon dynamically.

Just by reading your post, I cannot understand what you did and want.

If you want some helps, you'd better to explain all informations.

BTW, I know simplifiedURLs.

d3forum generates clean URLs.
d3forum must work fine with it.

Happy New Year!!

I recently switched the core of my site, after reading through your information and a few of your recommendations. Everything was seamless. I then decided it was a good time to update the links as well. I read about the simplifiedurls and decided to give it a go.

I Believe simplifiedurls is a very nice hack. And did in fact work seamlessly with your d3forum.

The only problem I have concerning the d3forum is I havent been able to figure out how to rewrite the pagenav so it will paginate ".htm"

before the htaccess redirect, this is the internal link:
index.php?forum_id=4&pos=8

but i realise this is going to be a problem forming the query.
it will then i suspect look like: index.php?index-forum_id-%.htm

My htaccess is working fine and I have written the external redirect properly.

I cant seem to figure out how to rewrite the internal nav pagination dynamic urls.

thank you for your time and response(s).

:)

Which core have you switched from/to?

I don't recommend any cores
Both ImpressCMS and XCL2.1 are good cores.

How is the URL displayed with SimplifiedURLs?

And which SimplifiedURLs do you use?
I just know suin's original version.

I searched for hours and found a .zip that contained 2 sets of suin's simplified urls, It changed the + to either / or -
I chose the hyphenated one. works well.
